BEYOND THE FABRIC
IT WAS ALL A DREAM. But for Fred Keene, the creator and driving force behind ChristianiTees Urban Apparel, the vision didn't come in his sleep—it came in a coma.
Following severe complications from open-heart surgery, Fred faced the ultimate battle. He flatlined three times. But as he likes to tell it, "I came back three times, too." Every extra breath he takes is a testament to God’s grace.
Born and raised in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland, Fred’s roots have always been grounded in creativity and community. Voted "Most Talented" in high school, he spent his formative years pushing culture forward as a DJ, producer, rapper, poet, and songwriter. Professionally, his life’s mission has been just as intentional: empowering disenfranchised communities by building pathways to education, skills development, and employment.
But as the years passed, his physical body began to face trial after trial. Alongside heart failure, Fred was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), leading to five years of dialysis and, ultimately, a kidney transplant.
It was during his deepest medical crisis, while in a coma, that everything shifted. Through vivid, surreal visions, one specific scripture echoed through his spirit: 2 Chronicles 7:14. Though he wasn't a Bible scholar, the words "Seek My Face" became an undeniable calling. Fred made a vow: if he made it through the fire, he would give 100% of the glory to God.
Fred wasn’t called to stand behind a traditional pulpit. Instead, ChristianiTees is his ministry. It’s a brand built to use God-given creativity to direct the culture back to the Creator, inspiring people to keep our Savior's name bold, loud, and at the forefront of daily life (Matthew 10:32).
